World renown gem artist Howard Friedler creates 360 degree scenes inside clear crystals. His designs are sometimes whimsical and sometimes elegant. He jokingly refers to them as "hollowgraphics", but more seriously denotes them as "internal sculpture".

This art form requires the careful choosing of clear stones having specific shapes and sizes that work with the placement of each intended internal negative space sculpted to create maximum movement of each carving as the viewing angles change.
